Many technological enhancements distinguish Jewish Hospital Medical Center East (JHMCE) from other outpatient facilities. In a filmless/digital environment, the facility offers "next generation" capabilities such as:

  • Infrared sensor-based Nurse call locator system and patient tracking system
  • Video-on-demand audio/visual system throughout the facility including private patient pre-op and recovery suites
  • Hand-held computer access to patient data for physicians
  • Web-enabled results reporting for physicians
  • Web-based scheduling
  • Electronic patient medical record
  • In-room triage and registration utilizing electronic patient/physician signature
  • Enterprise-wide scheduling system
  • Wireless phones for caregivers
  • Fully-integrated, computerized patient documentation
  • Digital radiology
  • Biometric security measures to protect patient privacy and confidentiality including fingerprint readers on doors, medication dispensing systems and computer workstations.

Jewish Hospital Medical Center East has also partnered with several national and international companies to bring leading-edge medical technology to the new facility.

GE LightspeedJHMCE is the nation's first and only multi-modality show site for GE Medical Systems products in the areas of medical imaging, patient monitoring and non-invasive cardiology including gender-specific cardiac monitoring equipment. The full field digital mammography system used at the facility, the Senographe 2000D, is the first and only Mammography Quality Standards Act (MQSA) accreditation from the American College of Radiology.

Also featured in the surgical suites at JHMCE is Storz Endoscopy, America's OR1 technology that allows surgeons to control a multitude of 'hands on' functions with the simple touch of a computer screen.
