New Emergency Physicians Enhance Patient Care

Dr. T.J. Ziolkowski is the new medical director of emergency services at Jewish Hospital Medical Center Southwest.
Since opening in August 2007, Jewish Hospital Medical Center Southwest (JHMCSW) has enhanced medical care for residents in southwest Jefferson County by adding new patient care services and investing in renovations at the facility.

In February 2008, the patient experience at JHMCSW improved even more when Physicians in Emergency Medicine (PIEM) began providing emergency care services at the facility. PIEM also provides emergency care at Jewish Hospital and Jewish Hospital Medical Center South. Under PIEM’s medical direction, service levels in the emergency department are expected to improve, and wait times are expected to decrease.

Completely Satisfied

“Making sure people have a positive experience in our emergency department is very important,” said Rob Murphy, administrator and director of operations at JHMCSW. “Our goal is for all our patients to be completely satisfied with their emergency care. We believe the addition of these emergency medicine physicians at our facility will help us reach our goal.”

All PIEM physicians are board certified or board eligible in emergency medicine. T.J. Ziolkowski, R.Ph., M.D., serves as medical director for the group at JHMCSW. Dr. Ziolkowski graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with a special honors degree in pharmacy. He continued his education at the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston before completing his internship with the United States Navy and his residency training with the University of Louisville School of Medicine.
