Scholarships

Jewish Hospital & St. Mary's HealthCare offers educational loans for undergraduate and graduate nursing programs. JHSMH also offers scholarships through the Horizons Program funded by the Jewish Hospital & St. Mary’s Foundation. Full-time and part-time team members are eligible for tuition assistance to pursue career advancement.

Extern program

Jewish Hospital & St. Mary’s HealthCare offers a summer nursing externship program. Extern positions are available to Jewish Hospital and Frazier Rehab Institute employees entering their last year/semester of nursing school. This program enables the nursing student to supplement school experience with patient care management, organizational and time management skills. It also provides the opportunity to explore a specific clinical interest. The student sets individual goals and objectives with a preceptor.

The program is a combination of clinical experiences on the unit and conferences with the clinical instructor, with an emphasis on increasing knowledge and skill in the clinical area to facilitate transition to the RN role. The student will receive a stipend for the summer program.
